Medical Physicist - Nuclear Medicine (Maternity Leave Relief) Temporary Full Time

Applications are invited for a Medical Physics Specialist within the Department of Nuclear Medicine and PET at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick, New South Wales.

The position offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic Nuclear Medicine environment which includes a state of the art PET/CT operation. The Department performs a wide variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including specialising in Paediatric Nuclear Medicine.

The successful candidate will join an experienced multidisciplinary team and have substantial opportunity for professional development - contributing in a stimulating clinical environment in the areas of quality assurance of instrumentation, programming, computer network management, radiation safety and research.

Job Requirement


Selection Criteria:

  • Masters of Science of PhD in Medical Physics (or engineering or science with physics as a major component), as recognised by the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM).
  • Accreditation with the ACPSEM in Nuclear Medicine Medical Physics, or equivalent qualification. International candidates eligible for registration with ACPSEM may apply.
  • Substantial experience in nuclear medicine physics, image processing and radiation safety matters is required. A background in PET would be viewed favourably.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for computing and software development, preferably with experience in IDL or other high level progamming languages, and computer network management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Proven research interest and experience.
